One year after being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, comedic powerhouse Betty White is again the talk of Hollywood after winning the SAG award for outstanding female in a comedy series during Sunday night’s ceremony.
The 89-year-old actress, who was honored for her role as Elka Ostrovsky in the TV Land comedy Hot in Cleveland, was noticeably shocked as she was helped to the podium by presenter and Mad Men actor Jon Hamm. “I can’t believe this,” White told the crowd. “This [is] the biggest surprise I’ve ever had in this business.”

The always-entertaining White even managed to crack a few jokes about herself during her short speech, saying, “They had to get the old broad up those stairs and that’s not easy,” as well as commenting on her vast popularity in old age, when she quipped, “You didn’t applaud when I turned 40!”
