The Queen’s first cousin, and president of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the Duke took over from his wife, the Duchess of Kent (her most memorable moment was Jana Novotna crying on her shoulder after she lost the 1993 final to Steffi Graf) 10 years ago and it would seem that if Middleton gets involved, it would be to present the women’s trophy.

A royal source (and my, haven’t they been busy these past few months?) said, “Kate adores everything about tennis and would love to have an official role at Wimbledon.” Kate plays tennis at the fancy Harbour Club in Chelsea, London where the late Princess Diana was a member.
