After nearly three years of marriage, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are headed for divorce.
Court documents show Simpson has requested joint legal custody for their two-year-old son, Bronx, and primary physical custody. The musical couple, who married in May 2008, reportedly do not have a prenup.

In a joint statement, the duo said:
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives.”
Though NewsFeed is aware the custody battle will be rough on the family, we’re mostly curious about who will get all the eyeliner. (via TMZ)
