It’s possible that what initially seemed like the next viral video was actually a real-time medical emergency.

CBS reporter Serene Branson was reporting live from Los Angeles after the Grammy Awards when she began to flub her lines. What initially seemed like a minor slip-up quickly delved into slurring and an undecipherable word scramble, from an increasingly worried-looking Branson.

The Telegraph reports that Branson was hospitalized after the episode, as sudden, inexplicable difficulty with speech is one of the characteristic warning signs of a stroke.

UPDATE: CBS’s website has issued an update on Branson’s condition, clearing up the reports that she was hospitalized. They write:

Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning.”
