Baby Beckham number four is on its way and, whether it’s a boy or a girl, it looks set to be one of the most pampered tots in La La Land.

Victoria Beckham, Spice Girl turned soccer wife turned fashion maven, has reportedly been on a baby-crazy spending spree in anticipation of the arrival of the newborn. Although the baby is expected to be born in the UK, when it gets back to the family’s LA pad a luxurious nursery will be a-waiting.

The Beckhams are having a new nursery designed in their LA home, and have reportedly spent $240,000 on decorating. While festive wallpaper and lots of soft toys would satisfy most little’uns, Ms Beckham has demanded an “old-fashioned theme with a shabby-chic feel” for her petite palace. We suspect  she may be feeling more shabby than chic when the youngster arrives.

According to Bloginity, Mommy Beckham is going for a “bunny” theme, and is planning to buy a hand-carved ‘French Bunnies’ wooden crib from the chic baby boutique Petit Tresor. This alone will set her back a tidy $1,600, plus the obligatory matching nightlight and lamps. She has also ordered a cashmere robe and a rocking chair from the upmarket LA store, as well as piles of blankets from Little Giraffe, which comes on the recommendation of close friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

But she may have to hold back on the color (or just paint it yellow) as nobody knows if the new Beckham is a boy or a girl. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, she said there was “so much testosterone in [the] house it is crazy,” and that she could imagine painting a little daughter’s nails and helping her pick out clothes, so it’s no secret that Victoria wants a Little Miss Beckham. Let’s just hope she keeps the nursery gender neutral, since it would be a seriously expensive refit if she got it all wrong — though she could certainly afford it.
