Justin Bieber just singing his heart out.

The teen pop star could celebrate by rubbing shoulders with other A-listers, but has chosen to throw down with granny instead.

“No birthday bash,” he told E! Online. “Hopefully my grandparents will be out here and I’ll be able to spend time, a little bit, with them. My grandma makes the best cheesecake, cherry cheesecake. She made it for my 13th birthday.”

The Biebs, who is currently recovering from a dramatic haircut that turned his helmet into a hot mess, can’t go too crazy. “I only have, like, four days, so I’m just going to relax because I start my world tour on March 4 so just going to mentally prepare and just relax.” The tour will take him through 13 countries, including Britain, the Philippines, and Australia.

Taking a note from Kate Middleton’s playbook, he’s leveraging the power of his brand for good. He’s asked fans via Twitter to donate at least $17 to Charity: Water, which brings clean water to people in the developing world. “1 in 8 people in the world lack access to clean water. so this year i want to give my birthday away to help @charitywater #makeachange,” he tweeted on Feb. 28.
