Its stars will now quite literally bust through the television screen.

The gradual move toward pornography as close as possible to actual sex marches on – this time with Penthouse’s new 3D channel in Europe. It launched Tuesday and promises both soft core and hard core, just so you know.

It’s not the porn biz’s first venture into 3D. That honor goes to a company called Bad Girls in 3D, which sells a 60-in. HDTV, two sets of glasses, 3D playback software and a $19.95 monthly subscription for its male entertainment.

But Penthouse’s channel is the first of its kind in 3D, airing every night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the European Astra network. It will also include 30 hours of new content monthly.

“We are very excited about the launch of the Penthouse 3D channel,” said Marc Bell, chief executive of FriendFinder Networks, which owns Penthouse.

NewsFeed imagines there are a lot of European men who are also, well, excited. (via USA Today)
