Colbert On China: Communism, Solar Power, and Charlie Sheen

The New Yorker’s China correspondent, Evan Osnos, visited the Colbert Report on Thursday to talk about the fast-growing superpower. Among Colbert’s suggestions to beat China at their own game: blow up the sun.

According to Osnos, China is now the world’s number one solar cell producer, despite having a nonexistent solar industry eight years ago. China also has more cars than the U.S., even though only 3% of the population has learned to drive.

The pair also chatted about the industriousness of the Chinese population, and wondered if, one day, China will pirate the fish taco.
