They say opposites attract. But we still find it surprising that Elizabeth Taylor’s final interview came during a sit-down with Kim Kardashian for the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Kardashian even channeled Cleopatra, one of many famous roles Taylor played during her life, for the cover story spread. During the interview, the reality television star called the screen legend her idol, and the two women touched on a number of topics, including Taylor’s husbands, diamonds and favorite fashion moments. “I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands,” Taylor said. “For me, life happened, just as it does for anyone else.” The Grand Dame said the 33.19 carats Krupp diamond, which was Richard Burton’s first jewelry purchase for her, meant the most to her, while the lavender dress, designed by Edith Head, she wore to the 1970 Academy Awards was one of her most memorable style moments.
