Ouch, Our Arteries: Taco Bell Tests Shell Made of Nacho Cheese Doritos

A video circulating on the internet indicates that Taco Bell is testing shells made of nacho cheese Doritos. Be prepared.

Surfacing shortly after the news of Denny’s Bacon Sundae spread online, this development is just the latest in strange fast-food innovations. The “Doritos Locos Taco” has been making appearances in Taco Bells since July 2010, but news of its existence only recently broke nationwide. Until now, the product has been contained to the American Midwest (no surprise there), popping up in Toledo, Ohio and Wichita, Kan.

While it may take some of us a while to wrap our heads around the concept, others have become quite comfortable with it. A Taco Shells made from Doritos Movement on Facebook has existed since August 2009 and has a following of more than 400 people. “THIS IS AN OUTRAGE,” they wrote, on having not been given a “heads up” about Taco Bell’s latest experiments.
