Celebrating Earth Day 2011, Google has displayed a colorfully animated Doodle that features running water, playful pandas and frolicking penguins. In fact, there are numerous hidden features to this year’s Earth Day Doodle, which you can explore by moving your mouse over the image.

Google has spent the last decade honoring Earth Day with a distinctive image and each year they’ve gotten more and more creative. The Doodles have become more intricate and have often touched on a certain theme of planetary concern. For past year’s Doodles, check out Search Engine Watch where the Doodles have been compiled.

This year’s Doodle incorporates several aspects and habitats that have been featured in year’s past. Basically the image captures everything we love about the Earth–not to mention, Doodles.
