A British tourist caught a young toddler who fell four stories from a Florida hotel balcony Wednesday night.

Helen Beard was at Orlando’s Econo Lodge Inn & Suites pool when she saw a child hanging from the railing above. She rushed underneath and caught 16-month-old Jah-Nea Myles in her arms, a move that spared the tot from even the slightest scratch.

Beard stayed with the child until paramedics arrived to take her to the hospital–a trip that turned out to be unnecessary. The baby’s mother, 20-year-old Helena Myles, told Reuters: “She’s perfectly fine. Not a scratch on her body.” Myles had left Jah-Nea with a friend but the young girl wandered onto the balcony while her babysitter was in the bathroom.

A potentially tragic ending gave way to a huge sigh of relief thanks to a made-for-the-movies stroke of luck and Beard’s quick-thinking.
