Double Doctor? James Franco Seeks Another PhD

Some would argue that one doctoral degree is enough to put you at the top of the academic pecking order. But it looks like James Franco isn’t stopping at just one.

Though he is currently pursuing a Ph.D in English from Yale, Franco has been accepted to the doctoral program in creative writing and literature at the University of Houston.

Program director James Kastely told the Houston Chronicle that Franco plans to enroll in September 2012.

Kastely says 20 students are chosen from about 400 applicants each year for the graduate program.

Franco’s academic track record so far has been quite impressive: UCLA, New York University, Brooklyn College, Columbia University, and Yale. And let’s not forget that little teaching stint at Columbia College.

Ladies, let’s hear it for the renaissance man.
