Are You a Bad Tipper? You Might Wind Up on the Internet

Stiff someone on a tip? Somewhere out there, a deliveryman is telling the world how cheap you are.

Larry Fox, who lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, will make sure bad tippers are outed as he chronicles the hard life of those underpaid deliverymen many barely think about in their daily lives. From enduring snow and foul weather to getting stiffed on hundred-dollar orders, Fox brings to mind the general populace that rely so hard on tips to supplement their wages: waitresses, bellhops and more.

He started a Tumblr blog outing the worst tippers. Though he initially posted customers’ addresses on his blog, he was forced to remove them after Tumblr contacted him.

Fox told Gothamist, “I just got tired of all these big companies, these TV shows and movie sets giving us two or three-dollar tips on a $90 order. The excuse is that ‘we can’t tip because that’s what corporate says’ is wrong. I find it disrespectful. And I wanted to make people aware of that.”

Feeling less than generous? Maybe you’ll think about it again the next time you go to a restaurant.
