A business student at New York University made a fortune by selling t-shirts with proclamations of Osama bin Laden’s death. But he’s now had a change of heart and is giving all his customers a refund.

Maurie Harary, 23, set up osamadeadtees.com as soon as he heard that the Al Qaeda leader had been shot by U.S. Navy Seals. Among the most popular tees were “Obama kills Osama”, “Just dead it,” or  simply the word “dead” over a picture of the terrorist.

Harary earned more than $100,000 in T-shirts over just two days, but now regrets what he initially did out of national pride.  “Celebrating over the death of someone, whoever it is, is evil in my eyes,” the young entrepreneur said.  “I feel it’s not a positive way to be making money. I don’t want my success to come at the expense of anyone else.”

Harary’s website now displays the words “Sold out,” and he says he will be launching a new clothing site with a wider variety of clothing.
