In the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Boys Lacrosse Championship on Monday night, sophomore Matt Borda of Gonzaga College High School in D.C. ended the game with an unbelievable 80-yard goal.

With 20 seconds left on the clock, Borda had possession. In an effort to kill time, the young defender — standing behind his own goal line — fired the ball to the other end of the field. Apparently in the Catholic championships, Hail Marys yield success. The ball went soaring into the goal before the ironically-named opposing team, Our Lady of Good Counsel, had a chance to react.

As the video makes its rounds through cyberspace, viewers everywhere try and wrap their heads around the amazing feat. Borda, on the other hand, can sit back and relax — his college admission process may have just gotten a whole lot easier.
