You know what they say: You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can’t take Jersey out of the girl.
People reports that Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi got into a fender-bender in Florence on Monday while filming for the fourth season of Jersey Shore.
Snooki was driving with castmate Deena Nicole Cortese and a member of the production team when she rear-ended a police patrol car, which was coincidentally appointed to escort the girls for their own safety. The Fiat Multipla that she was driving was inadvertently sandwiched between the police car and the highway wall, forcing Cortese to exit the car through the window.
While no one was seriously injured in the accident, two police officers who were in the patrol car were taken to the emergency room to be treated for whiplash, bruises and cuts.
The girls of the Shore are no stranger to drama — or run-ins with the law, for that matter — yet they made their first trip to an Italian police station following the crash, but only to fill out paper work. Reports suggest that charges may be filed at a later date.
The Daily Mail reports that the cast has struggled to adjust to the rules of the road over in Italy, saying they’ve racked up more than 300 Euros worth of traffic tickets since they arrived earlier this month. It seems pretty simple to us, but maybe if the cast spent less time thinking about GTL — that’s gym, tanning, laundry for those unfamiliar with the Jersey Shore slang — they’d be able to pay more attention to the road.
