The Pop King’s original “Thriller” jacket can be yours on June 25. Well, if you’re rich. The bidding starts at $200,000.

Featured in Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video alongside the undead in graveyards, the red and black leather jacket is one of the most famous pieces of clothing in history. Its only rival is his own crystal-encrusted moonwalk glove, sold for $350,000 two years ago. The late artist had given the jacket to his longtime costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush for inspiration and written a personal message to the former owners on the lining and signed the sleeve, “Love Michael Jackson.”

The iconic jacket will be auctioned off at Julien’s Auction Gallery in Beverly Hills with 600 other collectibles, including Elvis Presley original “TCB” necklace ad Frank Sinatra’s custom Jaguar. A part of its proceeds will go to none other than Thriller and Sabu, the late artist’s previously owned Bengal Tigers who now reside in Shambala Preserve.

To those collectors and Jackson fans out there, this 1980s memorabilia maybe the thriller “no mere mortal can resist.” But for the rest of us, the more affordable options at Wal-Mart costume section would do just as well.
