Big Fish, the Tim Burton film based on Daniel Wallace’s 1998 novel of the same name, will make its musical debut on Broadway in spring 2012.
Though the cast has not yet been announced, a star-studded production team features several “big fish” working behind the scenes of this adaptation.

Five-time Tony winner and current nominee, Susan Stroman, leads the force as director and choreographer. Fellow Tony nominee, Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family), will provide music and lyrics. Partners Dan Jink and Bruce Cohen produced the film in 2003, and they’ll team up again for the Broadway production.
The made-for-Broadway storyline will take inspiration from the film and the novel, which both center around a son’s relationship with his dying father. This production will add to the growing list of Broadway musicals based on movies.
