It’s being reported that 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has been hospitalized after attempting to commit suicide.

Reports suggest that the police were alerted when a call came in from someone staying with Portwood, saying they were worried. “According to the caller, Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life,” a statement from police said. “The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation.”

While other tabloid outlets are reporting that Portwood did actually attempt suicide with pills, police haven’t confirmed.

This suicide scare comes on the heels of a domestic abuse conviction, handed down last week, where Portwood pled guilty to assaulting her ex-fiance Gary Shirley, the father of her two-year-old daughter. The charges resulted in Portwood losing custody of the little girl.

MTV has issued a basic initial statement on the incident, simply saying, “Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details.” (via ABC)
