Globalization has transformed the time-old tradition of camp. Sharing s'mores around a campfire is out, and making gelato with an Italian ice cream maker is in. Paddling up and down a lake in the woods has given way to extreme sports like snowboarding or scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef. And arts and crafts time has ... been replaced by SAT prep time.
