The July issue of Playboy
Crystal Harris may have called off the wedding after it was too late to pull her cover from Hugh Hefner’s legendary magazine (which seems just a tad too convenient), but Hef still managed to get a jab in.
The July issue of Playboy featured the Playboy-girlfriend turned Playboy-fiance posed in nothing but a bra and Hef’s famous robe, smoking a cigar, under the teaser “America’s Princess: Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner.” And although it was too late to pull the cover by the time the wedding was cancelled, Hef did come up with an ingenious way to address the painfully obvious fact that his cover girl would never be Mrs. Hefner.

Slapping a massive red sticker on the cover—which obscures much of Harris’ body—the new eye-catcher on the July cover is a label that reads “Runaway Bride In This Issue”. While the gimmick was an ingenious way to address the cancelled wedding, and is bound to sell more issues than usual, we can’t help but wonder if Hef wasn’t also issuing a warning about his now-ex.
