After reportedly “downing pills”, the actor was  found in his London home by paramedics who rushed the star to the hospital by ambulance after he had refused treatment.

Rhys Meyers gave no comment following his release Wednesday morning.  However, a neighbor did offer, “I saw the ambulance arriving and was worried to death.”

Rhys Meyers, 33, had been struggling with a drinking problem for quite some time, about which he has admitted, “When I do drink I’m like Bambi.  I’m all over the place like a 16-year-old kid.”  Earlier this month, Rhys Meyers did spend a short time in a five-star rehabilitation center in South Africa (his fifth such attempt).

As a source explained, “This is very sad.  It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life.”
