Does everything Sarah Palin touch turn famous? It does if the cable network TLC has its way.

The television station has announced a new two-part series about the Beehive salon as part of its new reality show “Big Hair Alaska.” Beehive owner Jessica Steele famously tallies Palin as a client.

A TLC press release, not naming the Beehive specifically, claims the show “goes inside a busy hair salon in Wasilla, Alaska, where the personalities of the owner and her staff are as big as the hairstyles they create.” How about also saying “and as big as the celebrities they draw and hopefully the viewers that means we can attract”? That may be just as accurate.

Facebook posts on the Beehive page and countless media reports tie Beehive to the TLC show set to air in September.

TLC set its own viewership records in the first week of its eight-part “Sara Palin’s Alaska” series in November 2010 and may be hoping that any tie back to Palin will give the network another ratings boost.

At the very least, all of America has the chance to learn how to create a Palin-esque up-do.
