Mix your White Russians and fill your ringers— The Big Lebowski organizers invited The Dude to a Manhattan reunion and, as we all know, The Dude abides.

Few cult comedies are as quotable, or indelible, as The Big Lebowski. And few movies have sparked such passionate annual celebrations by fans around the globe.

It was in 2002 that the very first “Lebowski Fest” commenced in Louisville, celebrating the Coen Brother’s 1998 tale of an unemployed stoner bowler in Los Angeles who, along with two dimwitted teammates, becomes ensnared in in a bizarre hostage situation involving a wealthy elderly businessman and his young trophy wife. Since the first Lebowski party, gatherings have spread to more than a dozen cities and two continents, with fans devising new and ingenious ways of celebrating the shell-shocked Jewish convert Walter Sobchak, the uber-competitive immigrant pedophile Jesus Quintana, and even the trio of club-toting, rug-urinating nihilists.

Long have Lebowski loyalists demanded a sequel. And while there’s no official word on a second Lebowski epic yet (Jeff Bridges did tell me at last year’s Comic-Con, however, that he’d be open to the idea), the devout can gather tonight for the next best thing: A live cast reunion in New York City, simulcast across the web via livestream. The show is set to commence at 6:30 p.m. EST (you can watch below), all in celebration of the Big Lebowski Limited Edition Blu-ray which goes on sale today, loaded with scores of featurettes, trivia games and a 28-page companion book.

I’ll be attending tonight’s festivities, and will report back tomorrow about what it was like to see The Dude (Jeff Bridges), Walter (John Goodman), Donny (Steve Buscemi) and Maude (Julianne Moore) all back together again, joined on stage by music man T-Bone Burnett.

For those of you interested in tuning in, check back here at 6:30. That’s when a pre-show interview with Jeff Dowd (the real-life “Dude”) is set to begin. It will be followed by the red carpet at 7:15, and the Jeff Bridges/John Goodman/Steve Buscemi/Julianne Moore/John Turturro/T-Bone Burnett Q&A at 8 p.m.
