Leah Gibbs, a 23-year-old mother from South Wales, went on a date with Adam Minton, 21, after meeting him on Facebook. During the date, Minton asked her to drop him off at a betting shop. She waited in the car while he placed a bet.

Minutes later, Minton ran out with a knife in one hand and a bag of money. He jumped into the car, screaming, “Drive, drive, drive.” Which is exactly what Gibbs did.

According to The Daily Mail, Minton acted rudely toward Gibbs during the getaway drive back to his house, and that’s when “she decided the date was over.” (Really? Most would’ve been more turned off by the knife.)

But the saga was far from over. After driving back to Minton’s house, they were both arrested and Gibbs was held in custody throughout the evening until Minton confessed that he had acted alone.

Gibbs described the ordeal as “a date from hell. I thought I’d be ending the night in Adam’s arms. Instead, he had landed in the long arms of the law.”

Minton reportedly racked up debt due to a cocaine addiction and was sentenced to four and a half years for the crime.
