Forbes has calculated the man in entertainment who made the most bank last year and it’s probably not who you think.

Beating out producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Steven Spielberg and all other actors in Hollywood, was a man who combines a little bit of everything (for a whole lot of cash): the writer/producer/director/actor Tyler Perry. Thanks to films such as For Colored Girls and TV shows like House of Payne, Perry raked in $130 million from May 2010 to May 2011, reports Forbes. Surprised? NewsFeed was, too; he had some stiff competition. But it looks like Perry’s success is going to keep chugging along; he’s taking over the leading role from Morgan Freeman in the next movie adaptation of James Patterson’s detective thrillers. (Patterson, notably, is also in the top ten of highest earning men, with $84 million earned.)

As for the rest of the list, most of the top spots are filled by a lot of aging white guys: after Bruckheimer ($113 million) and Speilberg ($107 million) come Elton John and Simon Cowell, earning $100 million and $90 million, respectively. And other than Perry, the only other actor to make the list was Leonardo DiCaprio, who earned $77 million.

Is anyone else starting to feel worse about their bank accounts?
