Google Buzz: The Search-Engine Giant Is Now Brewing a Beer

Furthering their quest for world domination, Google embarks on its next logical venture: launching a limited-edition beer.

Partnering with craft beer favorite Dogfish Head, the search giant has created URKontinent, a beer named after the original supercontinent, reports the Huffington Post. Dogfish Head founder and President Sam Calagione calls the beer “a valentine to boot-strapping entrepreneurs in all kinds of industries all over the world.”

Indeed, flavors from far and near are represented in the brew. After surveying thousands of Google employees worldwide about their hopes and dreams for the Dogfish-Google beer, a smaller team of Google employees then collaborated with the brewery to bring all the flavors together.

What they ended up with is a dark, Belgian-style Dubbel, filled with “coffee and chocolate covered cherry flavors.” The beer “begins with Pilsner, Munich and Chocolate Malts and Belgian Dark Candi syrup,” according to the Dogfish website.

There’s wattleseed from Australia, toasted amaranth from South America, green roobios from Africa, and Hive Plex honey from California, among other exotic ingredients. Lucky beer fanatics can try the brew at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver this week, or at the Dogfish Head Brewery in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

But don’t fret if you can’t stop everything you’re doing to fly out for a taste—the beer will soon be packaged for full distribution in the coming months.
