Guinness World Records

They’ve done it in a canyon, in Hawaii, and even in the Hard Rock Cafe. One thing’s for sure — Lauren and David Blair love tying the knot. But far from being serial contortionists, these lovebirds are in fact the world record holders for the “Most Marriage Vow Renewals by the Same Couple,” reports the Huffington Post.

Having first swapped rings in Taponga Canyon back in 1984, the Tennessee twosome renewed their vows for a staggering 99th time on Sunday and have used a new location on each occasion.

Lauren, 60, and David, 58 took the Guinness World Record with their 66th renewal in 2001 and have been stretching their confetti-strewn lead ever since.

By now I’m sure you’re wondering why on earth anyone other than Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson would love weddings as much as these guys?

According to Lauren, the renewals are a way to recapture that initial moment of bliss. “We were both in long-term relationships in the past that didn’t work out,” she said. “We knew we were meant for each other and wanted to continually share that vow experience. I love to look into David’s eyes as he is repeating his vows. I know that this man will love me until the day I die.”

But it seems the happy couple may not agree on everything. Lauren added, “Of course, David will tell you that he does it for the honeymoons!”

Sparks first flew when the couple met in 1982, however it wasn’t all smooth sailing, as Lauren actually turned down David’s first offer of marriage. In fairness to the bride, though, she’s probably said “I do” enough times now to make up for it.
