Could Gaga go from a lady to a Queen?

Guitarist Brian May has said that among the singers Queen’s considered to front the band, Lady Gaga is a top contender. “We get a lot of offers to work with other people,” May told Express. “I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with. She’s not just a singer, she writes her own material.”And apparently Gaga is into the idea, as May noted that she confirmed “she would like to do something with us.”

If Gaga did step in as the frontwoman for the legendary rock band, she’d certainly have some large shoes to fill. The band has been relatively quiet for the past two decades since the death of Freddie Mercury left a massive hole in the group. Gaga, with her gender-bending getups and outrageous stage presence, does have some similarities to the eccentric late singer, so perhaps the idea isn’t that far-fetched.

However, though the title might suggest that Gaga is moving up the ranks, NewsFeed isn’t convinced that she’d be benefiting the most from this collaboration. After all, she’s single-handedly propelled herself to the top of the charts again and again. Wouldn’t a group of aging rockers from the ’70s be more likely to hold her back?
