It’s about as dramatic — and weird — as golf can get.

A fan and his bizarre behavior upstaged Tiger Woods at a tournament in San Martin, Calif. It wasn’t just that he walked onto the green, started yelling and threw a hot dog in Woods’ direction while the player was getting ready for a putt. Although that would have been weird enough.

But immediately after tossing the hot dog, which landed on the green without touching anyone, the 31-year-old man dropped to the ground, put his hands behind his back and waited to be arrested. The police obliged and arrested the man, whom officials say was not drunk, for disturbing the peace. He was not taken to jail for the offense.

“I guess he wanted to be in the news,” Woods told Golf.com, “And I’m sure he will be.”
