You don’t have to have been born with a silver spoon in your mouth, but you better have deep pockets if you want a taste of the world’s most expensive dessert.
The Lake District of the U.K. is known for its green, rolling hills and long, deep lakes, and…pricey desserts?
Well, one pricey dessert, that is. The Lake District’s Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel head chef Marc Guibert fashioned the world’s most expensive dessert out of some curious sounding ingredients.

Guibert’s creation is a layered concoction made out of high-quality dark chocolate pudding, gold, champagne caviar, a 2-karat diamond (delicious!), champagne jelly and biscuits laced with edible gold, among a few other choice items. It is served inside a golden edible Faberge egg replica because, well, why not?
Altogether, the ritzy treat comes out to a whopping £22,000 — the equivalent of $35,000. To warrant inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records, though, the dessert needs a buyer. Perhaps Warren Buffett can offer some advice on how to solve that problem.
The not-yet-named dessert unseated Serendipity 3’s Frrozen Haute Chocolate from the title of world’s most expensive dessert. Serendipity 3 had held the title since 2007 for its $25,000 delicacy.
