If you weren’t expecting today’s Google doodle, than you’re probably not very familiar with the Internet.

Celebrating Halloween the way they celebrate most holidays, anniversaries and big events, the search behemoth has offered up its homepage logo for a tailor-made placeholder. While doodles are typically images, Google occasionally uses an animation or video to depict its logo and today is one of the those days. For All Hallow’s Eve, the homepage features a time-lapse video that shows the Google crew carving a bunch of giant pumpkins into a row of jack o’logos. Check out a behind-the-scenes look at the Halloween doodle here.

We’re sure even the Halloween naysayers out there can’t help but get into the spirit after seeing this.
