Kim’s Fairytale Divorce
Perhaps most anticipated on this week’s SNL was the way they’d cover Kim Kardashian’s divorce. A primped Kim Kardashian, played by Nasim Pedrad, proudly showed off the divorce proceedings in a ceremony to rival the first. An oafish Kris Humphries (Andy Samberg), as expected, had no say in the divorce. And mom Kris Jenner, expertly portrayed by funnywoman Kristin Wiig, had too much say.
Greek God Debt Crisis
Would Zeus be better tasked to solve the Greek financial crisis than Papandreou? SNL traced the debt problems back to the country’s mythological era, a time where the elite worked mere hours each week and society was run by the gods.
Zeus (Jason Sudeikis) queried the gods and goddesses about their economic bailout plans – which predictably turned into a comedy of errors – much like the current state of Greece. It emerged that Dionysus, the god of wine, had been overseeing the financial state of Greece. The German god of austerity was invoked to take the reigns. War never seemed more inevitable among the fiery Greek gods.
