Inquiring minds would like to know for certain whether there are extraterrestrials here on Earth. After more than 12,000 people signed an online petition that demanded the POTUS “formally acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race” and make all documents related to that alien presence public, the public has their response. Unfortunately for conspiracy theorists and E.T. fans, it’s not likely the response they were looking for.

Phil Larson, from the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, has issued an official response the petition:

“The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye.”

But all is not lost, alien lovers. Larson goes on to list several government projects dedicated to studying alien possibilities, noting that “the odds are pretty high that somewhere among the trillions and trillions of stars in the universe there is a planet other than ours that is home to life.” For some reason, however, NewsFeed feels this won’t quell the petitioners’ doubts.
