Correspondent Bernard Eismann (who was later responsible for CBS’s Bicentennial Minute) went out on the streets of New York to get reactions from a grieving crowd. From there, reporter Dan Rather showed the final news footage of Kennedy, followed by post-shooting footage of the scene surrounding where the president was shot, including the Dallas Book Depository, where assassin Lee Harvey Oswald was later said to have fired the fatal shot.
