Virginia Tech was on lockdown Thursday after a gunman killed a police officer and another person at a traffic stop on campus. Students and faculty were told to stay inside university buildings as authorities searched for the suspect. It was a study day on campus, as students were preparing for their final exams.

It’s the first shooting on the campus since 2007, when 33 people were killed in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

The shooter was still at large as of 2:45 p.m. E.T., and details were unclear. Local television affiliate WDBJ News 7 is streaming its coverage, which CBS News is broadcasting on Ustream.
