Let’s not act like we didn’t see this one coming. The L.A. Lakers superstar, an NBA legend before he was even 30, was the center of a well-publicized scandal when he was accused of sexual assault in 2003. He wound up admitting to an adulterous affair and settling with his accuser out of court. But it doesn’t stop there. Vanessa vowed to stand by her man through all his trials and tribulations and the millions of dollars that came with it, but even basketball wives have their breaking point. She recently filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. The cost has reportedly yet to be determined for two reasons: California is a 50/50 state, and Kobe and Vanessa never signed a prenuptial agreement.

Kim Kardashian entered wedded bliss with New Jersey Nets power forward Kris Humphries, which was actually her second set of nuptials (she married producer Damon Thomas in 2000 and divorced him in 2004). The ceremony was in August and many in the media called it a marriage made for television. As it turns out, their marriage didn’t even last as long as Cop Rock. Citing the Hollywood standard, irreconcilable differences, Kardashian not only filed for divorce after 72 days, but petitioned the court to order Humphries to pay his own legal bills. Humphries responded by petitioning for an annulment based on fraud, or at least a legal separation.
