Kim Dotcom, founder of the recently shuttered file-sharing site Megaupload, faces at least four more weeks in custody after a New Zealand judge denied him bail, Reuters reported. The German-born mastermind, also known as Kim Schmitz, will remain behind bars pending the Feb. 22 hearing to determine if he’ll be extradited to the United States on copyright infringement and money-laundering charges.

But perhaps the hardest hit to Dotcom’s ego is this: the 38-year-old has lost his status as the world’s highest ranked player in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Under the username MEGARACER, Dotcom snagged the top spot in the first-person shooter video game late last year, MSNBC reported. But after spending the past week in a New Zealand prison cell rather than his absurd mansion, Dotcom lacked the time — and the access to Xbox Live — to maintain the coveted position.

With around 15 million players worldwide, Modern Warfare 3 is one of the most popular video games of all time, according to VentureBeat. Prior to this past week, Dotcom worked dutifully to reign supreme in the violent game. He can only hope to apply the same warrior-like tenacity to legal battles.
