Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww” Farley will have to find a new location for their spray tans and drunken cat fights. That is, if they insist on recording them.

According to the Jersey Journal and Gothamist, Hoboken authorities unanimously denied a request by MTV and 495 Productions to film the duo’s spin-off of Jersey Shore, which MTV announced back in April.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer pointed to concerns about public safety and quality of life in her explanation on the city’s website:

“Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the City has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the Jersey Shore to be filmed in public locations. Please see the attached letters which explain the reasons for this decision. The applicant has been advised that they do have a right to appeal the Film Commission’s decision to the City Council.”

In reference to the city’s already active nightlife, Mayor Zimmer also called the show’s 24-hour filming schedule “an attractive nuisance causing crowds to assemble at every hour of the day and night, additional traffic congestion, the attendant noise associated with large public gatherings and unacceptable lessening of the quality of life for the local residents and businesses.”

Many Hoboken residents are on board with Zimmer’s decision, according to NJ.com. The mayor posted a poll on Twitter Jan. 25, asking citizens if they wanted Snooki and JWoww to film. As of Feb.1, 74% of respondents voted “No way!”

Sorry, Snooki–If you want to stay in the Garden State, you’ll have to relocate. Rumor has it the pair is also checking out Jersey City.
