Rising NBA star Jeremy Lin is ditching his brother’s padded, army green-brown couch for, you know, an actual apartment. Wait, he was still sleeping on his brother’s couch?
That’s right, and it’s all because his contract wasn’t even guaranteed until this week. So for six weeks, Lin decided to await his fate on a couch until things became more certain, his brother told the New York Times.
According to reports, Lin will be subletting an apartment from ex-Knick David Lee at Trump Towers in White Plains, N.Y. Yeah, you read that right, the Trump Tower. Apparently, his new digs will come with 24/7 valet service, white-glove service and Brazilian cherry wood cabinetry. We suppose that’s a step up from couch cushions on the Lower East Side. Lin also crashed on teammate Landry Fields’s couch when absolute Linsanity took the NBA world by storm.

Of course, the sublet is also just another temporary home for Lin. It’s unclear what terms the sublet arrangements are, and if Lin will be end up staying there permanently.
A source told the New York Post that “It is very common for new Knicks to stay at the Trump Tower in White Plains while they get acclimated to the city… The Knicks keep players there when they are new. Sometimes they stay, sometimes they find places on their own there. Amar’e [Stoudemire] was there before getting his place. Every Knick player is there before finding their own apartment.” But hey, it beats your brother’s living room. Here’s a promotional video from the building:
