Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only daughter of Whitney Houston, opened up to Oprah Winfrey on Sunday in her first interview since her mother’s death last month. She said she’s comforted by family, God and her mother’s spirit.

“She’s always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me,” Brown said in a special TV interview on Winfrey’s network, OWN.

Brown, 19, said the pain of her mother’s death “comes in waves.” On Feb. 11, the 48-year-old singer was found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., the night before the Grammys. Brown said she’d spent that day wrapped in her mother’s arms. The cause of her death has not been revealed.

Brown said Houston wasn’t just a mother, but a best friend, a sister, a confidant — “my everything.” She said she plans to carry on her mother’s legacy by singing, acting and dancing.
