For some, the best pie comes in the form of pizza (oh, the cheesy goodness). The first pizzeria in the U.S. dates back to 1905, when Lombardi’s opened in New York City. The reinvented “Napoletana” style of pie still lives on in New York, with pies continuously cooking in the original coal-fired oven. While the debate on our nation’s best (pizza) pie style lives on, at least having a variety of options makes us happy (and hungry).
