Zsa Zsa Gabor once famously quipped, “I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house.” But in a sad twist, as the Hungarian socialite’s health has slowly failed in the past few years, the conflicts over her house (and her fortune) have intensified.

On May 2, a Los Angeles judge is scheduling a hearing to see whether a conservator should be appointed to oversee Gabor’s estate and physical well-being. The petition comes from Francesca Hilton, Gabor’s daughter, on the news that Prince Frederic von Anhalt, Gabor’s ninth husband, borrowed $700,000 on Gabor’s $10 million house. According to CNN, the house is reportedly undergoing foreclosure after several missed mortgage payments.

Gabor’s husband countered, “We are right now going through a very hard time, my wife and me. We have to sell our property in order to pay our debts. My wife has $6 million in debts.”

Scares for Gabor’s health intensified last July after she broke her hip. In the past two years, a series of medical conditions has left Gabor bed-ridden. Hilton has accused von Anhalt is keeping Gabor “increasingly isolated” and “heavily sedated.” The two have a history of feuding publicly, but the fighting has been accentuated as Gabor’s health has worsened.
