The Google team realized it had been ignoring a key demographic for its Google Maps service. Never mind the fact that the device is stationary in your house and the Internet as we know it didn’t even exist back then — the team’s unleashed Google Maps for Nintendo NES. And the 8-bit graphics and MIDI music are just as terrible as we remember them. But not surprisingly, it makes us nostalgic for those days when we had to blow on the game cartridge to remove dust. If you want a taste of the 8-bit Google Maps without digging up your NES, just go to http://maps.google.com and click on the “Quest” button in the upper right corner.
