President Obama really knows how to throw a wild rumpus. On Monday, amid the festivities at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, with the help of the First Family, the President read Maurice Sendak’s classic childrens’ book Where the Wild Things Are to a gathered crowd of children.

While the commander-in-chief normally spends his days reading policy briefings and intelligence reports, it’s clear he is very much a parent who knows how to enthrall a child in a good book. During his reading of the tale of a naughty little boy transported to a land of monsters, he got into character and delivered a very dramatic rendition of the story. But Malia and Sasha Obama may have looked just a little embarrassed by their father’s performance. Yes, dads are embarrassing, even when they run the country.
