Capitalizing on the coastal travel often required by California’s executives, two brothers are launching a membership-based, all-you-can-fly airline for as little at $790 a month, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Santa Monica-based Surf Air is now accepting membership applications, aiming to sign up 500 charter members for its launch this year. The airline will offer members unlimited monthly travel between Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Palo Alto and Monterey beginning in May.

Wade Eyerly, a former aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, and his brother David , a licensed commercial pilot and former manager at Frontier Airlines, first launched the company on the East Coast as PlaneRed, but decided on relocation after enrolling in a mentor program by startup accelerator MuckerLab.

“We are fulfilling a real need in the marketplace, a professional and affordable service between very popular regions,” Wade Eyerly told FOX News. Last year more than 20 million frequent travelers flew between San Francisco and Los Angeles. “We foresee our members forming personal and business bonds on our flights as they experience the benefits of this exclusive travel club,” he added.

The concept is nothing new; larger, commercial airlines like New York-based JetBlue and Minnesota’s Sun Country Airlines have previously offered monthly specials, generating strong interest and sales.

Surf Air is already aiming to expand its destination roster to include Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe and Sacramento.
