Kristen Wiig made her final appearance as a cast member on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, an occasion she marked by dancing with host Mick Jagger, cast members and executive producer Lorne Michaels to the tune of the Rolling Stones classic “She’s a Rainbow.” As the group sang another Stones’ hit, “Ruby Tuesday,” with its line, “still I’m gonna miss you,” Wiig appeared to be holding back tears.

Rumors have been flying that Wiig would leave the sketch comedy institution ever since the resounding success of her movie Bridesmaids. (those same bells are tolling for the SNL careers of cast members Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg.) While Wiig has been one of the most prolific and talented cast members in SNL’s nearly 40-year history, personally, we can’t wait to see what she does next. And after seven years on the show, it’s a great chance for us to look back at her many hilarious characters.
