Fred Rogers is back! The star of the children’s television classic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood has received a 21st century upgrade in the form of an auto-tuned mash-up video on YouTube.

The new release is a carefully edited collection of clips from his namesake show, which aired on PBS from 1968 to 2001, set to music by John D. Boswell of Symphony of Science.

PBS Digital Studios explained the video on its YouTube channel as follows:

When we discovered video mash-up artist John D. Boswell, aka melodysheep, on YouTube, we immediately wanted to work together. Turns out that he is a huge Mister Rogers Neighborhood fan, and was thrilled at the chance to pay tribute to one of our heroes. Both PBS and the Fred Rogers Company hope you like John’s celebration of Fred Rogers’ message.

“Garden of the Mind” is an attempt of PBS “to spruce up the images of its iconic personalities for a new generation” and the video of Mr Rogers, who died in 2003, is the first in what will be a series of remixes featuring PBS icons, reported the Los Angeles Times.
