Chris Christie Gets into Shouting Match at the Jersey Shore

Add one more clip to the “Gov. Chris Christie Gets Angry at Someone” video treasury. While at the Jersey Shore, the Republican Governor lost his temper at an unidentified man on Thursday night, as TMZ.com reported from a grainy, cell-phone style video.

“You’re a real big shot!” Christie yelled at the off-camera person multiple times in the clip. The man shouted back “Nah, just take care of the teachers!” As TMZ noted, the governor has had confrontations with the teacher’s unions in his state and signed legislation increasing funding for charter schools, which didn’t sit well with those who wanted funds to go to public schools. In response to the man, Christie started towards him saying “Keep walkin’ away.”

Cooler heads seem to have eventually prevailed, as someone in the governor’s party began to nudge him away from the heckler. As to the reaction of the governor, one member of his staff told The New York Times that the man had started the altercation by directing profanity at Christie.
